FAQ's

Why would I need color-coded moving tools?

We can all safely conclude that moving is messy and hectic! However, organization is key to a smooth transition, enabling you to communicate, prioritize, and focus through the chaos. Our room-identifying products can also empower moving crews to navigate your new home independently, resulting in a seamless move-in day.

How are your moving label products different?

Aside from having the most extensive color-coding system on the market, we are the first to utilize a wrap-around design—meaning one label is visible from two sides of a box. For example, placing two labels on opposite (diagonal) side corners of a box means the label is visible from all four sides! When your boxes are stacked together on a truck or in your home, this will enable you to pinpoint what you need, when you need it.When crafting our products, we made sure to create something that works for any type of move. Our permanent adhesive is made to endure humid conditions and long transit times, and they can be used in both DIY and professional moves. We also consider the fact that some rooms will have more boxes, which is why we provide higher quantities for certain spaces.

How should I use the labels if I’m hiring a packing crew?

Most movers actually recommend using color-coded products! If you request it, many will be happy to label boxes for you (you may need to give them a tutorial on our wrap-around feature). Since they would typically be writing on boxes anyway, this could be a huge time-saver for them and will also ease the grueling move-in day process. Many customers do prefer to label the boxes themselves and will simply follow behind as their movers finish packing each area.

When would I need room-identifying door signs?

Giving verbal directions around your new home can get redundant and tiresome. Move-in day will be chaos, and the last thing you need is to escort movers around your home and show where each box should go. Our door signs, which are color-coordinated to match the room labels, will streamline this process to help them navigate around your new home independently. You will first want to make sure that your boxes get appropriately labeled with our room labels during packing. Add anynotes to your door signs that will match up with the labels, such as Upstairs Hallway Closet... or Bed #2 on Left... or Downstairs Guest Bath... use simple phrases to ensure your movers understand. Be sure to hand-carry your door signs to your destination; then, on delivery day before your movers arrive, hang the door signs around your home to simplify unloading day for everyone!

Which set and size is right for me?

This will largely depend on: a) how you plan to relocate, and b) your new home’s size. For example, our LABEL HERO™ set is ideal for ANY type of move, and particularly for do-it-yourself movers who may only need the box labels. Our ROOM ID™ and PRO MOVR™ sets are ideal for professional moves because they enable your movers to work more efficiently and independently. We’ve broken down our sets into two sizes, but our quantities are meant to serve as rough estimates since lifestyles may vary.

What comes with the Label Hero™ labeling system?

Our box labeling system consists of both room labels to sort boxes by room and categorizing labels to help sort by urgency and handling instructions. Our labeling system is most effective when mixed and matched together to ensure boxes are both organized and handled properly. Mix + match as needed—you make the rules here! Just be sure to onlyuse our stickers on cardboard or other disposable wrapping materials.

Why do you only offer one Bathroom/Closet color?

This choice really came down to going overboard with colors, which runs the risk of choosing something confusingly similar to another one of our label colors. However, you still have the option to add your own notes to each label, such as using a number system (BATH 1, 2, 3) or writing personalized phrases to help differentiate (master bath, upstairs hallway bath, downstairs powder room, etc)

What if I have more than one Living or Family room?

No biggie! Just as you would with the Bath/Closet/Bedroom labels, you can use the blank space on the products to add more personalized notes or numbers that will help you differentiate (i.e. Formal living room, Family room, Play room, Bonus room, Game room, etc). Again, if we added too many colors, we ran the risk of some colors being confusingly similar. Home layouts can vary widely and everyone’s exact needs will be different, which is why we prefer to let you add your own personal details!

Can you explain each of the category labels?

Use the Fragile label for boxes containing antiques, electronics, dinnerware, glassware, or other easily breakable items. Our Unpack First label is best for identifying boxes with first-night essentials and household necessities. The Do Not Pack label is helpful for keeping others away from your designated hand-carry items—for example, boxes containing travel papers, road trip items, valuables, or anything else that should not be loaded onto the moving truck (be sure to also secure everything away in a safe place before moving day!) . Our Parts Box label is a great way to keep track of boxes containing small parts, hardware, tools, furniture pieces, cables, cords, TV remotes, and so on. Inside your parts boxes, we also recommend keeping individual hardware sets for each item separately in small plastic bags, and then labeling them with a marker to prevent any mix-ups!

What are the size differences and how do I choose?

We offer two sizes for each set, which are based off the number of bedrooms in your new home and where you will want each box to end up. The quantities we offer in each set are strictly estimates, and we can’t guarantee that they will provide you enough—needs will vary based on home size, lifestyle, size of contents, etc. If you feel you need more than what is offered, you may try combining multiple sets or two different sizes.

Would your products make a good gift?

YES! Our products make thoughtful Going Away gifts to moving clients, friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, military friends, and anyone else who is moving. We believe the gift of organization is the most practical way to anyone who is dealing with the stress and chaos of moving!
